Bloomberg Nokia Lumia 920 to be introduced Thursday by AT T

According to a report from Bloomberg, AT&T on Thursday will introduce the Windows Phone 8 flagship Nokia Lumia 920. It’s part of an event that the carrier is holding to show off a number of new handsets besides its new Nokia branded Windows Phone 8 model. According to the report, while the Nokia Lumia 920 will be one of the new phones on display, it will not be ready to be launched immediately according to the two inside sources that spoke to Bloomberg about the carrier’s plan for the model. Even though the phone won’t launch immediately, the Nokia Lumia 920 is scheduled to be the first Windows Phone 8 model to be released in the United States.

The square-cornered Nokia Lumia 920 is equipped with a 4.5 inch LCD display with resolution of 768 x 1280 which gives users an outstanding pixel density of 332ppi. A dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 is under the hood. The Adreno 225 crunches the graphics and there is 1GB of RAM on board. The rear-facing 8.7MP camera has a dual flash and captures video in 1080p at 30fps. A 1.3MP front-facing shooter allows you to take self-portraits. A 2000mAh battery keeps the lights on, and of course Windows Phone 8 is installed.

It’s unknown whether AT&T will announce pricing and a specific launch date tomorrow. Nokia is hoping that with many of the hardware restrictions seen in Windows Phone 7 now removed in Windows Phone 8, the handset manufacturer will be able to compete with the Android platform’s multi-core processors and larger screen sizes.
